All the TV Shows I’ve Loved Lately

TV in 2021 is sosososo good. Angel and I can watch TV for hours. I'd say it's one of our favorite ways to relax together after work and on the weekends. Before I started working from home, it was hard to keep up with my favorite TV shows. But streaming and on-demand platforms like Apple TV+, Disney Plus, Hulu, and more make it easy to start a TV show wherever, whenever. Here's a list of all the TV shows I've loved lately.

WandaVision (Disney+) – WandaVision (WV) is the show responsible for my Marvel obsession. When I started WV, I didn't understand anything because I never watched any of the Marvel movies. So, I watched all 23 Marvel movies in one month to get the lay of the land. When I returned to WV, it was so much better and easier to understand. Now I stan all the Marvel movies. While there was a lot of action and mystery in WV, I enjoyed the overcoming trauma and mental health aspect the most. Elizabeth Olsen is an excellent Wanda, and I can't wait to see her as Scarlet Witch.

What If…? (Disney+) – What If…? was an interesting show that reimagines the Marvel Cinematic Universe's (MCU) most noteworthy events and what it would look like in the multiverse. In the last episode of Loki, we got a glimpse of what the MCU looks like when the Time Keepers aren't controlling everything. It's literally setting up the future of the MCU, and I'm so excited about it!

Never Have I Ever (Netflix) – I'm a huge Mindy Kaling fan (The Mindy Project is one of those shows I can watch and re-watch over and over again). Mindy's show, Never Have I Ever, is so funny my neighbors can hear me lol-ing from a mile away. (Gotta love the city life.) The show is a coming-of-age series about an Indian-American teenager navigating life after her father's death. It's both serious and pee-your-pants hilarious at all the right parts. I haven't started season 2 yet, which premiered over the summer, so please don't spoil it for me!

Behind the Attraction (Disney+) – Behind the Attraction is a fun docuseries about the different rides and attractions at the various Disney Parks. It came out around the same time Jungle Cruise premiered (it makes sense considering Dwayne Johnson is an executive producer of the series). Disney+ currently has episodes for Jungle Cruise, The Hollywood Tower of Terror/Guardians of the Galaxy—Mission: BREAKOUT!, the Disneyland Hotel, and more. Honestly, knowing the history of the rides made going to the park that much more magical for me.

The Imagineering Story (Disney+) – Angel and I loved The Imagineering Story, a documentary about Disney's Imagineers. They're responsible for dreaming up, designing, and building all of Disney's parks, rides, attractions, resorts, and more. The Imagineering Story shares the history of Disney's Imagineers, completed projects, and the future of technology.

Bridgerton (Netflix) – I don't know about you, but Bridgerton totally took me by surprise. I'm usually not into Regency-era shows, but I liked this one a lot. I watched the entire show in three days. And the ending had me speechless. Like, my mouth was literally hanging open. I can't wait to watch season 2!

Sex/Life (Netflix) – So my mom was the one who told me about this show because she saw it on The View (they were talking about a part in the show where a certain appendage is a *big* hit). Anyway, I digress. Sex/Life follows a wife and mother who struggles with accepting her married-with-kids life when her toxic ex-boyfriend shows up out of the blue. This is a deep show with lots of traumatic experiences. I love the show's content, but it was so intense that I needed to take a break from it.

The Morning Show (Apple TV+) – If you're not watching The Morning Show on Apple TV+, what are you doing with your life? The Morning Show is a TV series about UBA, a fictitious television network, and the people that work there. They cover serious topics inspired by today's news stories like workplace misconduct, the wildfires in California, cancel culture, the Coronavirus Pandemic, and more. Seriously, this show is sosososo good. Reese Witherspoon is one of my all-time favorite actresses, and Mark Duplass's Charlie "Chip" Black is one of my favorite characters. The jury is still out on Jennifer Anniston's character, Alexy Levy (she's a complicated character). But Jennifer is doing a great job at bringing her to life.

Boy/Girl Meets World (Disney+) – Angel and I just finished watching Boy Meets World and Girl Meets World. It was so nostalgic to watch one of our favorite childhood tv shows again and see where their lives are 15 years later. I swear I was crying at the end of most episodes. The lessons in these shows are so heartwarming. I wish they didn't cancel Girl Meets World, and we could've seen Cory and Topanga's daughter all the way until the end of high school.

Doogie Kamealoha M.D. (Disney+) – I may be slightly biased because I'm from Hawaii. However, regardless of the location of the show, it's still sosososo cute! I love watching Lahela navigate her teenage life as a doctor. Same as Boy/Girl Meets World, the life lessons in this show are heartwarming.
