What to See

Platinum-infused decor and limited-time offerings. Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, the Downtown Disney District, and the Disneyland Resort hotels will be decked out in platinum-infused decor to celebrate The Walt Disney Company’s 100th anniversary. Sleeping Beauty Castle will be dressed in platinum banners and bunting accented by two new water fountains, a beautiful cabochon, and a shining wishing star. You’ll also find platinum statues and medallions around the resort. See an artist’s concept of the celebration decor in the Disney Parks Blog Disney100 guide.

The Disney Gallery Presents: Disney 100 Years of Wonder. The Disney Gallery on Main Street, U.S.A., at Disneyland will transform into a new exhibit inspired by Walt Disney’s vision for Disneyland. Inside, you’ll see artwork by original Disney animators for some of Walt’s early films alongside concept art created by original Disney Imagineers to recreate those same stories in the park. It’ll be a beautiful tribute to Disney films that became Disneyland Resort rides and attractions.

Mickey’s Toontown. The reimagined Mickey’s Toontown will reopen on March 8, despite Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway launching on Jan. 27. The updated land will feature more play activities and attractions than before, plus a grassy play space to relax and unwind. Learn more about what’s coming to Mickey’s Toontown on Disney Parks Blog.

What to Do

Ride Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. Launching the same day as the Disney100 celebration at the Disneyland Resort is Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Mickey’s Toontown. As many of you know, Mickey’s Toontown has been closed to park guests for refurbishment and to bring this new ride to the Happiest Place on Earth. The ride is inside the El CapiTOON Theater and “transports you into the wacky and unpredictable cartoon world of Mickey and Minnie Mouse,” according to Disney Parks Blog.

To experience this new ride when the attraction opens on Jan. 27, guests must have a valid ticket and theme park reservation for Disneyland and use the Disneyland app to join the virtual queue at 7 a.m. or 1 p.m. or purchase an individual Lightning Lane, subject to availability. A standby queue will not be available.

Watch Magic Happens Parade. The Magic Happens parade is returning to Disneyland on Feb. 24. This upbeat daytime parade is led by Mickey Mouse and his pals featuring magical moments from Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Animation Studios.

Watch World of Color – ONE. World of Color is one of my favorite nighttime spectaculars to watch, so of course, I’m excited to watch Disney100’s World of Color – ONE. 🤩 💦 🌈  This all-new show will take place at Disney California Adventure. It celebrates the storytelling legacy founded by Walt Disney by illustrating “how a single action creates a ripple that can grow into a wave of change,” according to Disney Parks Blog. World of Color – ONE will be the first show to feature characters, music, and moments from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, The Avengers, and Star Wars in the same production.

Watch Wondrous Journeys. Throughout the Disney100 celebration at Disneyland Resort, Main Street, U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle, “it’s a small world,” and the Rivers of America will transform into Wondrous Journeys, an artist’s canvas with lighting effects, projections, and more. It’ll take you on an epic journey through 100 years of Walt Disney Animation Studios.

Remember to wear your MagicBand+ to World of Color – ONE and Wondrous Journeys to see it come to life with dancing lights and vibrations synchronized to the shows.
