Best of Beauty 2017

WHAT. A. YEAR. Amiright?! Before 2017 ends, I want to recap my top 10 favorite beauty products of the year. Not all of these products were created and launched in 2017 but they were highly favored in my beauty routine throughout the year.

Before 2017 ends, I want to recap my top 10 favorite beauty products of the year. Not all of these products were created and launched in 2017 but they were highly favored in my beauty routine throughout the year. Learn more at Beautybyjessika.com.

1. Tarte Drink of H2O Hydrating Boost Moisturizer

I loved this moisturizer so much that I ended up repurchasing it 5 times before convincing myself that it was time to try something new. 😂 I liked that it was a gel moisturizer with hyaluronic acid because I got all the benefits of a light moisturizer for my oily skin but all of the hydration I needed because of my oily skin.

2. Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo

The problem I have with dry shampoo is finding one that actually does its job of refreshing second day hair. Dry shampoo is also one of those beauty products that I hate to spend a lot of money on. The Living Proof Dry Shampoo is a high end product but it does the job which is why I keep repurchasing it. It's light, refreshing, and makes my second day hair look like it has just been washed.

3. Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in 'Macadmia'

This is hands down my favorite concealer because it's so creamy, has good coverage, and sets nicely with a good setting powder (i'm looking at you Kat Von D Lock-It Setting Powder 😍). It also has a wide color range so you can find something to color correct, highlight, and contour. Win, win, win

4. Fenty Beauty Killawatt Highlighter in 'Mean Money/Hu$tla Baby'

Okay, time to be honest; I never thought I would get over Laura Geller's Gilded Honey but I did! I first tried the Fenty Beauty Killawatt highlighter when I was getting color matched at Sephora. God bless the heart of the makeup artist that was helping me because I was losing my mind over how beautiful the it looked on. The peachy, gold color is perfect for my tan skin and I love that it's a duo product that comes with one subtle color and one more dramatic color.

5. KoKo Lashes in 'Risque' and 'Queen B'

Okay this one is kind of a 2-in-1 pick. I've always loved KoKo Lashes but this year I was all about the styles Risque and Queen B. I'm so obsessed that while I was on vacation in California, I found a store that sells it so when I go back to visit Angel's family i'll restock. Risque and Queen B have that staggered lash look that I like and the thick bands make applying the lashes super easy.

6. Tatcha Rice Enzyme Powder in 'Deep'

I must start this blurb by noting how much I love Tatcha products. I have this genuine curiosity about Japanese geisha practices (of course because Memoirs of The Geisha is one of my favorite movies) and the owner, Victoria, has done an amazing job at sharing their skincare secrets.

That being said, I have many Tatcha favorites, but the Rice Enzyme Powder in 'Deep' has got to be my favorite because it is the exact product I needed to exfoliate my oily skin. I've tried other exfoliating powders before, but some of them were too soft or too rough but this one is just right. I use this product every other night with the Tatcha Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil

7. H2O+ Beauty Aquadefense Matcha Detox Mask

I bought this mask because Iluvsarahii swears by it (and if she loves it that means I must have it). I like that it's a tingling, peel off mask that pulls out all the gunk, makes my pores look smaller and my skin brighter. I use this mask every Sunday night and it's like my night cap and a setup for a week of good looking skin.

8. IGK Rich Kid Coconut Gel

Clearly, I have a thing for textured hair. So when I discovered the IGK Rich Kid Coconut Gel I just had to try it. This product works best when you use it out of the shower. First I towel dry my hair, use a hair oil, brush out the tangles, then finish with this product by scrunching it into the ends of my hair to create that texture, then I air dry.

9. Chloe Roses de Chloe Perfume

A few years ago my boyfriend bought me this perfume and I loved it so much because roses are my favorite. It has a light, floral scent that smells so good. I wear this when I go on date night with Angel and it just makes me feel pretty. Jess tip: Always buy perfume in rollerball for easy travel.

10. Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in 'Do Me Baby'

This lip pencil was a very random purchase but it is a must in my makeup bag. I call it the my lips but better lip pencil and I only use it to outline my lips (because it looks weird all over the lip). My new favorite thing to do with it is top it with the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Lip Luminizer
