WE'RE ENGAGED!

The last week has been a mixture of bliss and shock but i’m so happy to announce that WE’RE ENGAGED! 

It all happened on his birthday. I wanted to take him out to dinner but he said he had a headache. I did too so I didn’t mind pushing it back to the weekend. 

When we got home he took some meds and I removed my makeup. He disappeared into our bedroom in between commercials of The Voice and when he returned he stood in front of me and nervously said, “We need to talk”. Nothing good has ever come from that phrase so I was a bit annoyed that he was choosing his birthday to have a heated discussion.

“I’ve been wanting to ask you this for a long time,” he said. Words were coming out of his mouth but it wasn’t making sense. My heart beat faster the longer he took to form complete sentences. I noticed that his left hand was in his pocket and there was a small part of me that was wishing for him to propose, but I didn’t want to psych myself out. 

Next thing I know he’s on one knee with a ring in a black velvet box and is asking me to marry him. 

“Are you serious?” I whispered, tears welling up in my eyes. He nodded his head and I said YES! 

I was in complete shock — I was not expecting to be proposed to in 2018 let alone his birthday. We spent the rest of the night calling our families and closes friends. Thank you to everyone that congratulated us in person or online. We are so excited to be entering this next chapter in our lives together. 

To my fiancé, Angel, I knew that you were the one when we met all those years ago. Thank you for asking me to spend the rest of my life with you.
